Shubh Muhurat for Marriage 2027: 44 Auspicious Wedding Dates (Month-by-Month)
There are 44 shubh muhurat dates for Hindu marriage in 2027 that pass a strict classical screen — good tithi, auspicious nakshatra, favorable weekday, allowed lunar month, and no Chaturmas, planetary combustion, or gandanta. The wedding seasons are January–March, May–early July, and mid-November–December, with nothing in April (Chaitra) or August–October (Chaturmas).
Shubh vivah dates 2027 — month by month
Dates below passed every filter of the classical screen (Muhurta Chintamani rules): weekday Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri, tithi excluding rikta (4th, 9th, 14th) and Amavasya, one of the 11 vivaha nakshatras, allowed lunar month, no Chaturmas, no Guru/Shukra asta, no gandanta Moon. "→" means the tithi or nakshatra changes during the day — the muhurta window lies in the second half. "Bhadra" marks dates with a Vishti-karana window to avoid.

The entire month falls in the lunar month of Chaitra, which classical texts exclude for weddings. This is the single biggest reason published lists go quiet between mid-March and late April.

Akshaya Tritiya — 8 May 2027 (Saturday): the year's famous swayamsiddha (self-proven) muhurta needs no further calculation — but note that in 2027 the Tritiya tithi is kshaya (shorter than 24 hours), prevailing only during daytime on May 8 and never at sunrise. Have a pandit pin the exact window.

What makes a wedding date "shubh"? The 5 classical filters
1. Tithi (lunar day). Avoid the rikta ("empty") tithis — Chaturthi, Navami, Chaturdashi (4th, 9th, 14th of each fortnight) — and Amavasya (new moon). These five filters come straight from the Muhurta Chintamani's Vivaha Prakarana.
2. Nakshatra. Only 11 of the 27 lunar mansions are recommended for weddings: Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati.
3. Vara (weekday). Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Tuesday and Saturday are Mars/Saturn days, traditionally avoided; Sunday is acceptable in some traditions.
4. Lunar month. Weddings belong to Uttarayana months (Magha, Phalguna, Vaisakha, Jyeshtha, Ashadha) plus Kartika and Margashirsha. Chaitra, Shravana, Bhadrapada, and Ashwin are excluded, as is any Adhik (intercalary) month — there is none in 2027.
5. Planetary state. No wedding when Jupiter or Venus is asta (combust/invisible near the Sun), no gandanta Moon (the last 3°20′ of water signs), and no Vyatipata/Vaidhriti yoga.
Why do different websites show different 2027 wedding dates?
If you've compared lists, you've seen the confusion: one site lists January 19 (a Tuesday), another skips April entirely, a third shows July dates. Four honest reasons:
- Amanta vs purnimanta. North India names lunar months by the ending Purnima, South/West by the ending Amavasya. The same date can sit in different "months" — and month rules flip the verdict.
- Weekday strictness. Our table keeps the classical Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri. Published panchangas often add Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday dates justified by a strong lagna (ascendant) at the ceremony hour — something a day-level table cannot verify.
- Chaturmas edges. A few lists include early-July dates inside Chaturmas. The classical position excludes them.
- Lagna windows. A real muhurta is a 1–3 hour ascendant window inside a good day, not the day itself. Two pandits can legitimately differ on the same date.
This is exactly why a static table can only take you so far — check any shortlisted date in our free muhurta finder, which evaluates the full panchangam including lagna, for your city and ceremony time.
Frequently asked questions
How many shubh muhurat dates for marriage are there in 2027?
44 dates pass the strict classical screen: 9 in January, 5 in February, 8 in March, 4 in May, 5 in June, 2 in July, 6 in November, 6 in December. April (Chaitra) and August–October (Chaturmas) have none.
Which is the best month for marriage in 2027?
January and November–December offer the most options with pleasant weather. June is the strongest summer window. Avoid April and August–October entirely.
What is the wedding season after Diwali 2027?
Diwali falls on 27–28 November 2027 (Lakshmi Puja on the 27th). The wedding season reopens earlier, on Dev Uthani Ekadashi — 9 November 2027 — with the first clean dates on November 10–11.
Can I get married during Chaturmas 2027?
Traditional panchangas say no. Chaturmas runs 14 July–9 November 2027. Some modern families do marry in this window with a pandit's approval, but no classical muhurta supports it.
Is Sunday a good day for a Hindu wedding in 2027?
Sunday is acceptable in several traditions but not in the strictest classical list (Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri). If your shortlist has a Sunday, verify the lagna window — many published Sunday dates are legitimate lagna-based picks.
Do I need the exact muhurta time, or is the date enough?
The date is only half the answer. The muhurta is properly a 1–3 hour lagna (ascendant) window within the day, chosen so benefics occupy kendras and the Moon is strong. Always fix the time with a pandit or calculator — see our muhurta finder.
Which dates should NRIs in the US/Canada pick?
Choose dates where the tithi/nakshatra hold at your local sunrise — tithi boundaries can shift the "day" by one across time zones. Our muhurta finder computes for your city.
What if my desired date isn't on this list?
It may still work via a strong lagna, or your family's tradition may follow different rules (many South Indian families, for example, reckon months differently). Use the muhurta finder or consult your pandit rather than forcing a listed date.
Methodology: dates computed from Swiss-Ephemeris-parity astronomy (Lahiri ayanamsa) with classical Muhurta Chintamani filters, evaluated at IST sunrise/sunset. Day-level screen — not a substitute for lagna calculation. Verify against a published panchangam before printing invitations. Check your exact ceremony window in our free muhurta finder.
